BIOGRAPHY - HER & KINGS COUNTRY

Fueled by the songwriting of lead singer Monique and accomplished producer, engineer, musician musician Caleb Sherman, the six-piece band including Nick diPierro on bass, Brother Love on drums, lead guitar player A Wonder and rhythm guitar player Justin Sherman has been packing the clubs of NYC for over four years with a sound so big that Nashville couldn’t help but hear it.

Monique began making a name for her self in the New York City music scene when she was only 12. She developed a reputation as a pop/rock powerhouse, but when she and fellow musician Caleb began writing songs together, it was one of those chemical reactions akin to Lennon/McCartney McCartney or Jagger/ Richards.

As they began to call upon friends to work up their new material, they realized that they were making country music. The dedicated collection of friends quickly became a band caught up in the energy and HER & KC was born. Calling in favors from their friends, the band bartered for studio time and on a shoestring budget recorded two critically acclaimed independent CDs "City-Country" and "1609" and the recently completed “Austin Bottom Road,” the countless video clips that can be found on their
website, to graphic design, merchandise, and photography, Her&KC has been doing it their own way and it’s working.

Where HER & KC truly shine, is on the stage. Their performances have become legendary and they’re steadily steamrolling across the country, leaving a trail of blown-away new fans in their wake. HER & KC began making music not for the pursuit of fame, but because the passion to create and perform was worth the sacrifice of living in tiny apartments and scraping for rent money with odd Jobs. In fact, in their earliest beginnings the band demanded that club owners not charge a cover at the door for their shows so that no fan would be denied the opportunity to hear their music, even though they barely had enough money to keep their electricity turned on.

They’ve been featured on CMT, GAC, in Country Weekly magazine, and even on CNN. They began making regular trips to Nashville in early 2008 and the ever-expanding collective of new friends they’ve made is helping them grow their following in a big way. In just the past year, they’ve had the opportunity to open not only for Kid Rock, but also for Montgomery Gentry, Jason Aldean, Kellie Pickler, Pat Green, Randy Houser, Shooter Jennings, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Charlie Daniels, and the list continues to grow.

HER & Kings County's 14 song CD “Austin Bottom Road,” is a masterful piece of music genius. Their mixture of Rock, Country, Pop is present in each and every song and they never shy from the fact of being from the east coast. It ain't about pickup trucks and rodeos for us Monique screams, as her amped up audience all holding up their Budwisers cheers in reponse. Their packed shows are filled with fans sporting everything from mohawks to cowboy boots. HER & Kings County's music and lyrics remind the listener of the bands NY attitude while giving a new perspective to to southern rock music.

HER & Kings County take great pride in being a six piece band all from NY, who are all best friends and band mates as well. This band has unconsciously started a whole trend on their own, from the music they write, and harmonies they sing, to the clothing they wear, you never seem to forget that Her & Kings County fit right in with some of country music history's finest bands. “Austin Bottom Road,” is loaded with each song containing a hooky chorus, powerful vocals, and great musicianship.
