BIOGRAPHY - Keri Noble

Keri Noble is a piano-driven singer/songwriter whose passion and penchant for living life on her own terms radiates from her music. Her alto voice has a depth of character brimming with charisma, and prompted The Washington Post to compare her to Melissa Etheridge. After growing up in an environment where secular music was forbidden, Noble was inspired, like so many, by Joni Mitchell's Blue, to find her own voice in songwriting. After relocating from Detroit to Minneapolis, her demo scored her attention from world-famous producer, Arif Mardin, and a deal with EMI/Manhattan Records soon followed. Because the label focused more on promoting her outside of the US, she toured Asia and Europe to support her debut release Fearless. Without enough exposure back in the States, Noble felt boxed into the category of a balladeer. She decided to take charge of her career and creative voice by leaving her former label and eventually signing to indie label, Telarc.

Her 2009 self-titled Telarc release brought her more US success, including a song on Gray's Anatomy and an appearance on CBS's The Early Show. 2009 also brought more national attention as Kelly Clarkson recorded her song "If No One Will Listen," and included it on her Grammy-nominated album All I Ever Wanted. "I still don't know how it all happened," she says jokingly. "I'm just happy it did." 2010 started out with a two week tour of Iraq to entertain the soldiers, which prompted Noble to write a song for the troops entitled "You're Home." It was made available on her website as a free download exclusively for the soldiers and their families. "I wanted to be able to do something to show my appreciation for the incredible sacrifice, not only the soldiers are making, but the families that they leave behind." In addition to Iraq, she toured pan, was a Sun Country Airlines featured artist on a tour to Mazatlan, and continues to tour the US. Noble's next US album, When It Don't Come Easy, was released in September 2010 on her own label, KikoSaysSo Music, and a cd release concert will be held at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis in september. "It's been a dream of mine to be able to have complete creative control of my music. Having my own label and producing the upcoming CD has allowed me to fulfill that dream. "I couldn't begin to tell you how happy that makes me." Keri Noble will continue to tour in support of this release through early 2011.
