BIOGRAPHY - NYEE MOSES

With restrained passion Nyee Moses (nigh-ee) has a style that is organic and musically sound. Her vocals are captivating and soulful. In her debut release, she's created music that is smooth, sexy and intoxicating as it smolders and soars. Growing up in upstate New York and Philadelphia, Nyee studied classical training in voice and guitar. As she developed artistically, she started writing poetry and music as a means of expressing her emotions and was influenced by artists such as Billie Holiday, Miles
Davis, Marvin Gaye, George Clinton, Sting and Sade.

On this self-titled debut album, Nyee presents 11 distinct tracks that come together to take the listener on a journey of love and life. The artist together with Writer/Producers Marquis “Hami” Dair and Susan Youngblood has crafted a remarkable album that transcends genre, fusing nu-soul Jazz, Latin, R&B and pop with African story telling, Spanish guitars and tones of Middle Eastern flutes all wrapped up in lush arrangements and blended to perfection.

Nyee has developed a style that is uniquely her own. The soulful arrangement of the Gershwin classic "Summertime/The Revolution Mix" features Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs -N-Harmony on vocals and rap. It also features Hubert Laws on Flute. The "Love Is a Lion" (Bass Over Babylon Mix) Producers include the Grammy award team of Wayne and Brian Jobson and Neil Case.Greg Reeves of Cordovan Music makes a contribution as well playing bass, programming and mixing. Mali recording artist Ali Baba, a remarkably talented young singer/composer from the northern town of Bankass lends his voice (in his native language) to two haunting tracks, singing of love for family and hope for peace.
